Frequently asked questions
- A routine didn't do what I expected. Where do I look?
- Open the routine's Run history. Every run lists each step with its result, how long it took and why it stopped, so you can see which step went wrong.
- My hotkey doesn't work in a game.
- That's on purpose. While a game with anti-cheat protection runs, game-safe mode pauses anything that could look like automation inside the game. KeyRoutines sets up things around your games and never sends input to them.
- Can KeyRoutines send keys to an app that isn't in front?
- Yes, for desktop apps such as OBS, Discord or your browser. Background hotkeys are free; background text and clicks are part of Pro. Games are not supported.
- How do I stop every routine at once?
- Press the panic hotkey. It stops every running routine immediately. You can change it in Settings.
- How do I move my Pro licence to a new PC?
- One key works on 2 PCs at once. On the old PC, free it up in Settings ▸ Pro, then paste the key on the new one. Your key is also in the Polar customer portal.
- I lost my Pro licence key.
- It's in the receipt email from Polar, and in the Polar customer portal: sign in there with the email you paid with.
- How do I get a refund?
- Within 14 days of buying, email us with your order number and you get a full refund, no questions asked.
- How do I move my routines to another PC?
- Export them from KeyRoutines and import the file on the other PC. Imported routines start switched off and show what they will do before they can run.
- Is it safe to install routines from the Library?
- Every shared routine is checked automatically and reviewed by QaemDev before it's public. KeyRoutines still shows you what an installed routine will do, and it starts switched off. Only install routines you understand.
- Does KeyRoutines collect my data?
- No. Your routines, keystrokes, window titles and files never leave your PC. See the privacy policy on qaemdev.com for details.
