Display, brightness and night light
Change resolution, refresh rate, HDR, brightness and night light, per monitor and per routine.
Steps (7)
Set brightness
Set brightness changes how bright a screen is, from 0 to 100. It works with laptop and tablet panels and with external monitors that accept brightness commands, so you can dim everything at night or brighten up for daytime work.
HDR on/off
HDR on/off turns high dynamic range on, off, or to the opposite state on one monitor. It needs KeyRoutines Pro and is popular in gaming routines that enable HDR when a game starts and disable it afterwards.
Set display mode
Set display mode changes a monitor's resolution and refresh rate. It needs KeyRoutines Pro and is made for routines that switch to the highest refresh rate for games and back to a calmer mode for work.
Show or hide desktop icons
Show or hide desktop icons does the same as right-clicking the desktop and choosing View ▸ Show desktop icons. People use it before streaming, recording or presenting so the desktop looks clean.
Switch keyboard layout
Switch keyboard layout changes the active input language to a layout you name, as the language switcher on the taskbar does. Multilingual users run it when they open a specific app, so they start typing in the right language.
Dark or light mode
Dark or light mode switches Windows 11 between dark and light themes for apps, for Windows itself, or both. It is a favourite for schedules that go dark in the evening and light again in the morning.
Set wallpaper
Set wallpaper changes the desktop background to a picture you choose, on one monitor or on every monitor. Use it to give work, gaming and streaming their own look, or to rotate backgrounds through the day.
Conditions (2)
Desktop icons are showing
Desktop icons are showing is a condition that answers whether the icons on your desktop are visible or hidden. It is useful when one routine should behave differently depending on how your desktop looks right now.
Dark mode is on
Dark mode is on is a condition that tells a routine whether apps, or Windows' own taskbar and Start, are using dark or light mode. Use it to keep other things, such as your wallpaper, in step with the theme.
