How it works
- Pick the monitor, or leave it empty for the main monitor, and choose on, off, or the other way round.
- After the change, the step reads the state back to make sure the monitor really switched; some drivers accept the request and do nothing, and the step tells you.
- If the monitor is already as asked, nothing changes.
- It reports whether HDR was on before, so it can be restored later.
Routines that use it
HDR for games
When Game started fires for an HDR title, turn HDR on, and turn it off again with Game stopped.
Movie night
A Hotkey routine turns HDR on, switches audio with Set default audio device and opens your player with Open app.
Work hours
At a time at 09:00 on weekdays turns HDR off so colours look normal in office apps and screenshots.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Monitor | Which monitor. Empty: the main monitor. |
| Turn | Turn HDR on, off, or the other way round. |
Good to know
- The monitor, cable and graphics driver must support HDR; if not, the step fails and points you to Settings ▸ Display ▸ HDR.
Questions
- Can I turn on HDR only when I play a game?
- Yes. Use the Game started trigger with HDR on/off set to on, and a second routine on Game stopped set to off.
- Why did the step say HDR didn't change?
- Some drivers accept the request without switching. The step reads the real state afterwards and reports it, so check the driver and Settings ▸ Display ▸ HDR.
