Run a routine automatically when you quit a game

Game stopped fires when a game you pick, or any game in your launchers, has fully closed. It is the other half of a gaming setup, undoing what Game started changed.

How it works

  • Pick a game, or leave it empty for any game in your launchers.
  • It waits until the game's last process has exited, so a game that restarts itself or leaves a helper running doesn't fire too early.
  • The routine receives which game closed, so it can tidy up only what that game needed.
  • It reacts to processes exiting rather than checking on a timer.

Routines that use it

Back to desktop mode

When the game stops, switch back to the speakers with Set default audio device and turn HDR off with HDR on/off.

Resume the music

Leave Discord voice with Discord: leave voice channel and resume Spotify with Media control.

Log play sessions

Add text to file appends the game's name and the time to a simple play log.

Questions

Can I undo my gaming settings automatically when I close the game?
Yes. Build a routine on Game stopped that reverses your setup, or use a mode in KeyRoutines Pro, which remembers what it changed and puts it back.
Why didn't it fire straight after I closed the window?
It waits for every process of the game to exit. Some games keep running in the background for a few seconds after their window closes.
