How it works
- Type any text into it.
- When the routine runs, the comment is skipped completely, so it never slows anything down or changes the result.
- Because it sits between the steps it describes, the explanation is right where you need it when you edit the routine.
Routines that use it
Explain a timing choice
Put a comment above a Delay saying the app needs two seconds to load before Press keys can reach it.
Mark sections
Split a long morning routine into "Apps", "Sound" and "Windows" with comments before the Open app, Set volume and Apply layout steps.
Notes for a shared routine
Leave instructions about which folder to pick before an Organize folder step when you hand the routine to someone else.
Questions
- Do comments affect how fast a routine runs?
- No. The engine skips comments entirely, so they cost nothing at run time.
- Can I use a comment to turn a step off?
- No, a comment is only a note. It doesn't hold or disable other steps.
