How it works
- Give it text such as 2026-10-17, 2026-10-17 09:30 or 2026-10-17T09:30:00+03:00.
- You get the date plus its year, month, day, hour, minute and weekday, numbered 1 for Monday to 7 for Sunday, all in local time.
- By default the routine stops when the text isn't a date; turn that off and the step instead reports it as not valid and carries on.
Routines that use it
Date from a reply
Ask for input, read the typed date, then add a reminder time with Add to date.
Weekend check
Read a date from a file with Read text file and skip the rest when the weekday is 6 or 7.
Clean a messy list
Read each line from Split text and keep only the ones that are valid dates.

Good to know
- It reads standard year-month-day dates; custom layouts like day/month/year aren't supported.
Questions
- Which date formats can KeyRoutines read?
- Year-month-day dates, with or without a time, and the full standard form with a time zone. A date without a time zone counts as local time.
- How do I check if text is a valid date?
- Turn off "Stop the routine when the text isn't a date" and check the Valid result with Compare values.
