How it works
- Pick the mode from the list of your modes, which are routines that have a "When it turns on" section.
- It's true while that mode is on and false when it's off or when no mode is picked.
- Mode state is kept on disk, so a mode that was on before a restart still reads as on afterwards.
Routines that use it
No pop-ups while gaming
In a routine that shows reminders with Show banner, check that Gaming mode is not on before the banner appears.
Different volume at work
On a schedule, set the volume with Set volume to a lower level when Work mode is on and a higher one otherwise.
Skip a backup during a stream
Before zipping a folder with Zip files, check a Streaming mode and stop the routine if it's on.
Good to know
- Needs KeyRoutines Pro, like every mode block.
Questions
- What is a mode in KeyRoutines?
- A mode is a routine that stays on until you turn it off, and then puts back what it changed, such as the sound, windows or desktop icons. Mode is on lets other routines see whether it's on.
- Is the mode check still right after a restart?
- Yes. Modes that are on are saved, so the check gives the same answer after KeyRoutines or the PC restarts.
