How it works
- Pick the mode to flip.
- If the mode is off it turns on; if it's on it turns off and puts back what it changed.
- By default the routine waits until the switch is finished; an advanced option lets it carry on straight away.
- It reports whether the mode is now on and whether anything changed.
Routines that use it
AFK on a key
A hotkey routine with one Toggle mode step: the AFK mode mutes the sound and shows the desktop, and the next press brings both back.
Stream Deck button
A routine started from your Stream Deck toggles a Streaming mode that switches the OBS scene and the default microphone.
Focus on demand
Toggle a Focus mode that turns on Quiet mode and hides desktop icons, then undoes both when toggled again.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |

| Mode | The mode (a routine with "When it turns on"). |
| Waitadvanced | Wait until the mode has finished switching before the next step. |
Good to know
- Needs KeyRoutines Pro.
- Apps a mode opened are not closed again when it turns off, so you don't lose work.
Questions
- How do I make a one-key AFK mode on Windows?
- Build a mode with the steps you want, then give a hotkey routine a Toggle mode step. Each press flips it, and turning it off restores what it changed.
- Is there a free way to toggle things with one key?
- Yes. Without Pro you can use Toggle and Remembered value is with an If and write the on and off steps yourself.
