How to lock your PC when your phone's Bluetooth disconnects

Create a KeyRoutines routine with a Device disconnected trigger for your phone's Bluetooth connection, an If with PC is unlocked, and Lock the PC with a short countdown you can cancel.

Steps

  1. 1

    Watch the phone

Add Device disconnected, type part of your phone's name as Windows shows it, and limit it to Bluetooth.

  2. 2

    Only if unlocked

Add an If with PC is unlocked.

  3. 3

    Lock

Add Lock the PC with a 10-second countdown and a Cancel button in the advanced settings, in case the phone just dropped for a moment.

Tips

  • A brief drop that reconnects within about a second doesn't fire.
  • The phone has to be connected, not just paired, for a disconnect to happen.

Questions

Isn't this Windows' Dynamic Lock?
It's similar. A routine lets you add steps, such as muting the sound or pausing music before locking.
Is it free?
Yes. Device disconnected, PC is unlocked and Lock the PC are free.
