How it works
- There's nothing to set; it uses Windows' own view of whether this PC has internet access.
- Being on a network without internet, such as a hotel Wi-Fi that still wants you to sign in, doesn't count as internet.
- In Wait until it wakes on network changes, so a routine can pause until you're back online.
Routines that use it
Wait to upload
Before Send webhook reports a finished task, Wait until the internet is available.
Offline fallback
If there's no internet when your morning routine runs, open a local notes file instead of web pages with Open URLs.
Skip the sync step
Only run an HTTP request to your home server when the internet is up.
Questions
- How does KeyRoutines know if I have internet?
- It asks Windows, which tracks whether the current connection reaches the internet. It's the same signal Windows uses for its network icon.
- Can I check a specific website instead?
- Yes, use Host reachable for that. It checks whether one host or web address answers.
