How it works
- List the web addresses; a bare address like example.com gets https:// added for you.
- Pick Edge, Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi, Opera, Opera GX or Firefox and a profile such as Work or Gaming, or leave it empty for the default browser.
- By default the pages open together in a new window, which the step hands on so Apply layout can put it on the right monitor; turn that off to add them as tabs to the browser's last window.
- Only web addresses open; links to pages saved on this PC need the file links option, and other kinds of link are refused.
- Profiles are found by the name you see, so a routine from another PC still opens 'Work'.
Routines that use it
Morning dashboards
At a time at 09:00 on weekdays opens your mail, calendar and team board in the Work profile, and Apply layout puts the window on the left monitor.
Game guides
When Game started fires, open the game's wiki and map pages in a new window on your second screen.
Open a copied link elsewhere
When Clipboard changed reports a link, open it in your personal browser profile instead of the work one.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Urls | The web addresses to open, one per item. |
| Browser | The browser and profile. Empty: the default browser. |
| New window | Open the pages together in a new window (a later step can place it). Off: as tabs in the browser's last window. |
| Allow file linksadvanced | Also open file:// links and paths (pages saved on this PC). |
Good to know
- Opera and Opera GX don't take a profile.
- If no new window shows up within 20 seconds the pages were still handed over, but there is no window for later steps to place.
Questions
- How do I open multiple websites with one click on Windows?
- Add them all to one Open URLs step and run the routine from a hotkey or the tray. They open together in a new browser window.
- Can I open links in a specific Chrome profile?
- Yes. Choose Chrome and the profile by the name you see in Chrome, like Work. The same works for Edge, Brave, Vivaldi and Firefox.
