Run a routine automatically when you copy something

Clipboard changed starts a routine when something new is copied. Filter it to only links, images, files or text that matches a pattern, so it reacts to exactly what you care about.

How it works

  • Choose what counts: anything, text, a web link, an image, or files, and optionally a text pattern.
  • Content that a password manager marks as private never sets it off.
  • Copies made by KeyRoutines' own Set clipboard steps are ignored unless you ask for them, so routines can't loop on themselves.
  • The routine is told what kind of thing was copied but not the text itself; read it with Get clipboard when you need it.
  • Nothing runs in the background while no routine with this trigger is turned on.

Routines that use it

Auto-open video links

When a YouTube link is copied, Open URLs opens it in a separate browser window.

Save every screenshot

When an image is copied, Get clipboard saves it as a PNG in a screenshots folder.

Clean pasted text

When text is copied, Get clipboard reads it, Replace text strips tracking parameters and Set clipboard puts the clean version back.

Questions

Will it react when I copy a password?
Not from password managers that mark their copies as private, which most do. Those copies are skipped entirely.
How do I only react to copied links?
Set the trigger's content to web link. It then fires only when a single http or https address is copied.
