How it works
- Choose the content: text, files and folders, an image from a PNG or BMP file, or nothing to clear the clipboard.
- Files go on the clipboard the way Explorer's Copy puts them there, so you can paste them into any folder.
- Turn on the private option to keep the entry out of Win+V clipboard history, the cloud clipboard and clipboard manager apps.
- Files that don't exist are reported before the clipboard is touched, so it isn't half-changed.
- PNG images keep their transparency in apps that read PNG from the clipboard.
Routines that use it
Clear the clipboard later
After copying a one-time code, Delay waits two minutes, then Set clipboard clears it.
Ready-to-paste reply
A Hotkey puts a standard reply on the clipboard and Show banner tells you it is ready to paste.
Copy today's reports
List files finds today's exports and Set clipboard copies them so you can paste them into a shared folder.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Content | What to put on the clipboard: text, files, an image, or nothing (clear it). |
| Text | The text to copy. |
| Files | The files and folders to copy (paste them in a folder afterwards). |
| Image | The image to copy: a PNG or BMP file. |
| Privateadvanced | Keep it out of clipboard history (Win+V), the cloud clipboard and clipboard apps. |
Good to know
- Images must be PNG or BMP files.
Questions
- How can I copy text to the clipboard without it showing in Win+V history?
- Turn on the private option in Set clipboard. Windows then leaves that entry out of clipboard history and the cloud clipboard.
- Can I copy files, not just text?
- Yes. Choose files and list the files or folders; then paste them into any folder as if you had copied them in Explorer.
