Check what's on the clipboard before a routine continues

Clipboard contains checks what kind of thing is on the clipboard, and optionally whether its text matches a pattern. It lets one routine handle links, images and plain text in different ways.

How it works

  • Choose the kind: anything, text, a web link, an image, files, or nothing.
  • Add a pattern to require certain text, compared as contains, starts with, ends with, is exactly, or a regular expression.
  • Case can be ignored or must match exactly.
  • Inside a Wait until, it waits for the clipboard to change rather than checking on a timer.
  • Its explanations never quote your clipboard text, only describe it.

Routines that use it

Open copied links

On a Hotkey, if the clipboard contains a link, Open URLs opens it in your work browser profile; otherwise Web search looks up the text.

Wait for a copy

A routine shows a banner asking you to copy an address, then waits until the clipboard contains text.

Order numbers only

Only continue when the clipboard text matches your shop's order number pattern, then Type text pastes it into the tracking form.

Questions

Can a routine tell if I copied a link or plain text?
Yes. Set Clipboard contains to web link and it is only true for a copied http or https address.
Can I match the copied text with a regular expression?
Yes. Pick the regular expression option under how the text is compared and enter your pattern.
