How to open a copied link in a specific browser or profile

Create a KeyRoutines routine with a Hotkey trigger, an If with Clipboard contains set to a web link, and Open URLs with the clipboard's text, the browser and the profile you pick. Show banner tells you when the clipboard doesn't hold a link.

Steps

  1. 1

    Add a Hotkey trigger

Pick a chord such as Ctrl+Alt+L.

  2. 2

    Check it's a link

Add an If with Clipboard contains set to a web link.

  3. 3

    Open it

Inside, add Get clipboard as text, then Open URLs with that text and the browser and profile you want, for example Edge with your work profile.

  4. 4

    Otherwise say so

In the Else branch, add Show banner "No link on the clipboard".

Tips

  • Make two hotkeys for two profiles, such as work and personal.

Questions

Can it change my default browser?
No. It opens this link in the browser you picked and leaves Windows' default alone.
Is it free?
