How it works
- Choose the folder and how to sort: by type (Images, Documents, Videos, Music, Archives, Installers, Code, Other), by extension, or by the month a file last changed.
- Your own rules, such as .pdf and .docx going to Papers, are checked first.
- Subfolders can go straight into the folder or inside one like Sorted.
- Only the folder's own files are moved, never hidden files, unfinished downloads, or files open in another app, which are skipped and counted.
- Every move is recorded, so Undo file moves puts the folder back as it was.
Routines that use it
End-of-day Downloads tidy
At 6 pm, Ask Yes or No asks whether to wrap up, then Organize folder sorts Downloads into Sorted by type.
Photos by month
Sort a camera import folder by date into folders like 2026-10.
Only old files
Organize only files older than a week, so what you're working on today stays where it is.

Good to know
- Files in subfolders are not sorted, only the folder's own files.
- Subfolders are always created inside the chosen folder.
