How to log what you worked on at the end of each day

Use KeyRoutines' At a time trigger on weekdays, a PC is unlocked check, Ask for input with a multi-line box, and Add text to file to append the date and your answer to a log. Over weeks it becomes a ready-made record for timesheets and reviews.

Steps

  1. 1

    Schedule it

Add At a time at 17:30 on Monday to Friday.

  2. 2

    Only when you're there

Add an If with PC is unlocked so it doesn't ask an empty desk.

  3. 3

    Ask

Add Ask for input with "What did you work on today?" and room for several lines.

  4. 4

    Save it

Add Format date, then Add text to file with the date and the answer to Documents\worklog.txt.

Tips

  • Add text to file creates the file and its folder the first time.
  • Set Ask for input's timeout to a few hours so you can answer when you're ready.

Questions

Can it save to a CSV for Excel?
