Open a file or folder automatically with a routine

Open file or folder opens something on your PC as part of a routine. Use it to bring up today's notes, a project folder, or the file a trigger just found.

How it works

  • Pick the path, or drag a file from Explorer onto the editor to fill it in.
  • Choose to open it with its usual app, with an app you select (the path is handed to that app), or to show it in File Explorer with the item selected.
  • If the item vanished before Explorer opens, its folder opens instead.
  • In a dry run nothing opens; the log just says what would.
