How it works
- Pick the scene from OBS's live list; an exact name wins, otherwise a single case-insensitive match is used.
- Because it often runs right after OBS opens, it keeps trying for a short while (10 seconds by default) as OBS starts up.
- If OBS's WebSocket server is switched off it fails at once and tells you how to turn it on.
- Already on that scene counts as success, and a missing scene fails with the scenes OBS has.
- Its outputs give the new scene and the one before it.
Routines that use it
Scene follows the game
When Game started fires, switch to Gameplay; when Game stopped fires, switch to Just Chatting.
Stream starter
Open app launches OBS, then this step switches to Starting Soon and Speak text tells you it's ready.
Hotkey scene switcher
Bind a few Hotkeys to your main scenes so you can change them without leaving a full-screen app.

Good to know
- Needs OBS 28 or newer with its WebSocket server enabled.
Questions
- How do I switch OBS scenes automatically when I open a game?
- Create a routine with the Game started trigger and add OBS: switch scene. Pick your gameplay scene and it will switch every time that game opens.
- Do I need an OBS plugin?
- No. OBS 28 and newer has the WebSocket server built in. Just tick Enable WebSocket server in OBS's Tools menu.
