OBS Studio scenes, recording and streaming
Switch scenes, start and stop recording or streaming and react to OBS events, over OBS' own WebSocket.
Triggers (4)
OBS recording started or stopped
OBS recording started or stopped fires when OBS's recording changes state. It's the hook for tidying up a finished recording or quieting your PC while you record. This trigger needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS replay saved
OBS replay saved fires each time OBS's replay buffer saves a clip, whether you pressed OBS's own key or a routine saved it. This trigger needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS scene changed
OBS scene changed fires when OBS's live scene changes. Name a scene to react only to that one, or leave it empty to react to every switch. This trigger needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS stream started or stopped
OBS stream started or stopped fires when OBS starts or ends a live stream. It's the place for everything you do around going live. This trigger needs KeyRoutines Pro.
Steps (10)
OBS: record / stream / replay
OBS: record / stream / replay controls OBS's outputs from a routine: recording, the live stream, the replay buffer and the virtual camera. Gaming routines often use it to start the replay buffer when a game launches.
OBS: filter on or off
OBS: filter on or off flips one filter on a source or scene. Think mic noise suppression, a webcam colour correction, or a blur you add over the screen. This step needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS: mute or unmute
OBS: mute or unmute changes the mute on one of OBS's audio sources, such as Mic/Aux or Desktop Audio. It works through OBS's own mixer, so only the stream and recording are affected. This step needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS: set volume
OBS: set volume changes the level of one OBS audio source, using the same decibel scale as OBS's mixer. This step needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS: switch profile
OBS: switch profile changes which OBS profile is loaded, with its own stream and output settings. Handy if you keep one profile for streaming and another for local recording. This step needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS: switch scene
OBS: switch scene changes the scene OBS shows to viewers. It's free and needs no setup beyond turning on OBS's WebSocket server.
OBS: switch scene collection
OBS: switch scene collection loads another set of scenes and sources in OBS. Streamers who keep separate collections for different games or shows use it to swap everything at once. This step needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS: show or hide a source
OBS: show or hide a source turns a source in a scene visible or invisible, the same as clicking its eye icon in OBS. This step needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS: studio mode
OBS: studio mode turns OBS's studio mode on or off, or sends the preview scene to the live program. It suits streamers who like to prepare a scene before showing it. This step needs KeyRoutines Pro.
OBS: press an OBS hotkey
OBS: press an OBS hotkey runs one of OBS's built-in hotkey actions directly, without needing a key bound inside OBS. Use it for OBS features KeyRoutines has no dedicated step for. This step needs KeyRoutines Pro.
Conditions (4)
OBS is connected
OBS is connected is a condition that is true when KeyRoutines can talk to OBS Studio. Its most common job is sitting right after Open app OBS, holding the routine until OBS is ready to take commands.
OBS scene is
OBS scene is checks whether OBS's program scene, the one viewers see, is the one you name. It lets a routine behave differently on your Gameplay scene than on Just Chatting or Be Right Back.
OBS is recording
OBS is recording is a condition that is true while OBS has a recording running. A paused recording still counts, and the reason tells you it's paused.
OBS is streaming
OBS is streaming is true while OBS is sending a live stream. Use it to keep certain steps for when you're on air, or to stop a routine from doing something disruptive mid-stream.
