How it works
- There's nothing to set; it asks OBS whether the stream output is active.
- When true it also says how long you've been live.
- A closed OBS or a turned-off WebSocket server gives false, with the reason.
- In Wait until it reacts to OBS's stream events rather than checking repeatedly.
Routines that use it
Quiet while live
If OBS is streaming, Quiet mode keeps KeyRoutines' own banners and sounds out of the way.
No surprise sleep
A routine that puts the PC to Sleep at night first checks the stream isn't running.
Live-only shout-out
A hotkey shows a sponsor overlay with OBS: show or hide a source, but only while the stream is on.
Good to know
- OBS must be reachable through its WebSocket server.
Questions
- Can KeyRoutines tell if I'm currently streaming in OBS?
- Yes. The OBS is streaming condition checks OBS directly and is true while the stream is live.
- Does it work with Twitch, YouTube and other services?
- It doesn't look at the service at all, only at whether OBS says its stream output is running.
