How to switch OBS to your BRB scene automatically when you step away

Use KeyRoutines' Idle and Back at the PC triggers with an If on OBS is streaming. After five minutes without input, OBS: switch scene shows your BRB scene; when you touch the mouse or keyboard again, an If with OBS scene is checks you're on BRB and switches back to your main scene.

Steps

1. 1

   Add the triggers

   Add Idle set to 5 minutes and Back at the PC set to at least 1 minute away.

   Only while live

   Add an If with OBS is streaming.

   Going away

   Inside, an If with Started by trigger set to Idle runs OBS: switch scene with your BRB scene.

   Coming back

   In the Else branch, add an If with OBS scene is set to BRB, then OBS: switch scene with your main scene.

Tips

• By default Idle doesn't count time while a full-screen game is in front, because a gamepad leaves no keyboard or mouse input. Turn that off in its advanced settings if you play with a controller.
• The OBS scene is check means coming back never overrides a scene you picked yourself.
