How to switch OBS scenes automatically by the app in front

Use KeyRoutines' App focused trigger for each app, an If with OBS is streaming so it only happens while you're live, and OBS: switch scene to the matching scene. When the app comes to the front, OBS follows.

Steps

1. 1

   Watch the app

   Add App focused set to fire when the app comes to the front, for example your code editor.

2. 2

   Only while live

   Add an If with OBS is streaming, so scenes don't change while you're just working.

3. 3

   Switch the scene

   Inside it, add OBS: switch scene with the scene for that app.

4. 4

   Repeat per app

   Make one routine per app and scene, or add more App focused triggers and branch with Started by trigger.

Tips

• OBS plugins such as Advanced Scene Switcher can do this inside OBS too. A routine is handy when you want the same app switch to change other things as well, such as audio.
