How it works
- Choose on, off or toggle, and optionally how long it stays on, from 1 minute to 7 days.
- While on, KeyRoutines' notifications go only to its bell, and banners, progress bars, sounds and speech are skipped unless a step says otherwise.
- By default, routines that would start by themselves from schedules and event triggers are skipped too; hotkeys, routines you start yourself, and any routine with this step still run.
- Questions from routines are never held back.
- It changes a KeyRoutines setting only; Windows' own Do not disturb is left alone.
Routines that use it
Gaming Mode
When Game started fires, turn quiet mode on; when Game stopped fires, turn it off.
Focus hour
A hotkey turns quiet mode on for one hour so routines don't interrupt a deep work session.
Quiet while live
When the OBS stream starts, quiet mode goes on and stays on until the stream stops.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mode | Turn quiet mode on, off, or the other way round. |
| For | Turn it off by itself after this long. Empty: stays on until turned off. |
Good to know
- Doesn't change Windows' Do not disturb or other apps' notifications.
Questions
- Is KeyRoutines quiet mode the same as Windows Do not disturb?
- No. It only quiets KeyRoutines itself and leaves Windows' Do not disturb as it is.
- Will my hotkeys still work in quiet mode?
- Yes. Hotkeys and routines you start yourself keep running, as does any routine that turns quiet mode off.
