Remember a value between routine runs and restarts

Remember keeps a value safe after the routine ends, even across restarts of KeyRoutines and the PC. Use it for things like the last volume you set, a folder you picked, or whether you're away.

How it works

  • Give it a name using letters, digits and underscores, and the value to keep.
  • By default only this routine sees it; switch the scope to global so every routine and the Variables page can use it.
  • A few names, like the last run time and run count, are kept by KeyRoutines itself and can't be set.
  • In a dry run the value is only remembered inside that dry run, so your real memory stays untouched.

Routines that use it

Restore your volume

Remember the current level before Set volume lowers it for a call, then set it back afterwards.

Last chosen folder

Remember the folder picked with Choose from a list so the next run offers it first.

Daily once

Remember today's date from Format date and skip the routine if it already ran today.

Settings

SettingWhat it does
NameThe name to remember it under ("afk", "count").
ValueThe value to remember.
ScopeadvancedRoutine: only this routine sees it. Global: every routine sees it, and so does the Variables page.

Good to know

  • Names can't contain spaces.
  • A few built-in names are reserved.

Questions

How do I save a value between runs in KeyRoutines?
Use Remember with a name and a value. It's kept until you change it, even after a restart.
What's the difference between Remember and Set variable?
Set variable keeps a value for this run by default. Remember always keeps it for later runs, for this routine or for all routines.
