How it works
- Choose pause, play, stop, mute or unmute; it applies to every wallpaper.
- Pause or stop frees the graphics card for a game, and play starts the wallpapers again.
- Wallpaper Engine doesn't report whether it is playing, so the step reports what it asked for.
- A mode can undo it: a pause or stop is put back with play, and a mute with unmute.
Routines that use it
Gaming performance
When Game started fires, pause wallpapers; when Game stopped fires, play them again.
Silent calls
When Mic or camera in use fires, mute wallpaper audio so it doesn't leak into your call.
Battery saving
When Plugged in or unplugged reports battery power, stop wallpapers to save energy.

Good to know
- It can't tell you whether wallpapers were already paused, because Wallpaper Engine doesn't say.
Questions
- How do I stop Wallpaper Engine using my GPU while gaming?
- Add Wallpaper Engine playback set to pause to a Game started routine, and set to play in a Game stopped routine. Wallpapers pause only while you play.
- Can I mute Wallpaper Engine sound without pausing the wallpaper?
- Yes. Choose mute to silence every wallpaper while they keep moving, and unmute to bring the sound back.
