How to find and delete the biggest files in your Downloads folder
Make a KeyRoutines routine you run from the tray, with List files sorted by largest and limited to 20, Choose from a list showing their names, Ask Yes or No to confirm, and Delete to Recycle Bin for the file you picked. Show notification tells you how much space came back.
Steps
- 1
Run it when you need it
Add Run manually with "Show in tray" on, so it sits in the tray menu.
- 2
List the big files
Add List files on your Downloads folder, sorted by largest, with a limit of 20 and changed more than a week ago.
- 3
Pick one
Add Choose from a list with the file names from List files.
- 4
Confirm and delete
Add Ask Yes or No with the file's name and size, then Delete to Recycle Bin for that file inside an If on the answer.
- 5
Report
Add Show notification with the file's size.
Tips
- Delete to Recycle Bin is recorded, so Undo file moves on the run's page brings the file back.
- Wrap the steps in a Repeat to keep picking files until you choose to stop.
Questions
- Does it empty the Recycle Bin?
- No. Files go to the Recycle Bin, so the space comes back once you empty it yourself.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Every block here is free.
