How to get notified when a video render or export finishes

Use KeyRoutines' Folder changed trigger on your export folder for new video files, then a Wait until with File or folder exists and "has stopped changing" on, so it waits for the export to finish. Play sound and Show notification with an Open button tell you it's ready.

Steps

1. 1

   Watch the export folder

   Add Folder changed on your exports folder with *.mp4; *.mov, created only.

   Wait until it's done

   Add a Wait until with File or folder exists for the new file, with "has stopped changing" on for 10 seconds, and a long time limit.

   Ping

   Add Play sound with Reminder.

   Show it

   Add Show notification with the file's name and a button that opens it.

Tips

• "Has stopped changing" also checks no app still has the file open for writing, so it isn't fooled by a pause.
• Works with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, HandBrake or anything else that writes to a folder.
