How to get a break reminder every 20 minutes on Windows

Use KeyRoutines' Every … trigger set to 20 minutes, skip the run with Idle for when you're already away and with Full-screen app in front during films or games, then show a Show banner or Speak text reminder.

Steps

  1. 1

    Repeat every 20 minutes

Add the Every … trigger with 20 minutes.

  2. 2

    Skip if you're away

Add an If with Idle for set to 5 minutes and a Stop routine step inside it.

  3. 3

    Skip during full screen

Add a second If with Full-screen app in front and another Stop routine step.

  4. 4

    Remind you

Add Show banner, "Look 20 feet away for 20 seconds", for 20 seconds. Add Speak text if you prefer a voice.

Tips

  • Add a Time and day condition so it only runs in working hours.

Questions

Will it pop up over my game?
Not with the Full-screen app in front check. KeyRoutines also never shows overlays over protected games.
Can I snooze it?
Use Ask with buttons instead of Show banner and add a Delay when you pick Snooze.
